Fitted carpet

Fitted carpet is the most spread material in the renovation of rooms: it’s deadening, and thermic insulating because it prevents the loss of heat in winter and it doesn’t absorb a lot of heat in summer.
Naturally, people must decide on the basis of their necessities: a delicate fitted carpet for the bedroom but a strong fitted carpet for a busy room.
If you want to apply the same fitted carpet in each environment, you must choose a strong one which doesn’t undergo a change in the short term.
The spread of fitted carpet is due to its agreeable aspect, and the use of synthetic fibres which have simplified the maintenance and have permitted limited costs.
Acrylic fibre is the most similar to wool in appearance. It’s strong and unassailable by light and humidity, so the colours don’t change in time. Polyprophilenic fibre is resistant to abrasion like polyester fibre. Polyammidic fibre is the most used sintetic fibre for the production of fitted carpets: it’s easy to clean, lightproof, it has an excellent resilience because it doesn’t keep marks and it is hardwearing. Wool fitted carpet is the most valuable.
Often, wool is mixed to synthetic fibres to increase resistance. The electrostatic charge can make fitted carpet irritating, but these proble doesn’t exist no more because manufacturers use technical adjustements that eliminate the disadvantages.
Vegetable fibres like coconut or sisal are less used but they are fresh and agreeable. In addition, they don’t attract dust and they can be easily cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and washed with dry foams. They have the particularity to absorb humidity and return it to environment when the climate is dry.
A good, cheap and strong material is needleful, which you obtain stitching wastes to the support. Its surface is like a hard and compact felt. Fitted carpet is laid pasting it on the old floor or by bands predisposed on the floor and crossed to form squares of 80 cm. This laying is suited for fitted carpet with a rubber foam or texture reverse.
Fitted carpet can be leaned on the floor in little rooms: Furniture will keep it settled. Otherwise, it can be sticked to a band placed on the perimeter of the room. The laying by tension requires the placing of a felt between the floor and the fitted carpet: laying by tension is executed with a texture reverse fitted carpet. However, the supplier will suggest the best setting for the fitted carpet we have chosen.
REMARKS
Long haired fitted carpet is the most delicate and keeps most marks. It requires a careful maintenance and it is unsuitable for busy places.
We must choose a medium colour because dark and light colours highlight all specks of dust. Bouclè fitted carpet is suited for busy places, that is a fitted carpet with an eyelet coat. Frisè fitted carpet is realized by a twisted thread: it’s strong and it’s suited for busy places.
Then, there is a bouclè fitted carpet with eyelets of different heights which forms drawings: it’s suited for heavy traffic rooms because it doesn’t show marks and it doesn’t highlight the dirt.
Bathroom’s fitted carpet has a latex reverse, it’s water repellent and doesn’t cause maintenance problems. You can also find a cheap fitted carpet in department stores or paint shops: it’s 60 cm squared, and it has rubber reverse. You buy it, bring it home and just lay it on the floor. Joints aren’t remarked and disappear after few days because the surface gets a homogeneous appearance after walking on it.
Laying is very easy: you start from the middle of the room and continue towards the wall. It’s necessary a cutter to cut squares. When squares start to wear out because they are in a busy point, you can change them with other squares in the room, for example with squares under furniture.
